ZACH COOPER is a contemporary composer, producer, and experimental musican who works with tape loops as a medium. ADAM VOID likes to take things apart, mess with them, then glue it all back together and see what happens. Together they have assembled a collection of uniquely manipulated, one-of-a-kind cassette tapes designed to be played on a continuous loop. One side contains a random snippet of the recording that was originally on the cassette, while the other side has an original recording from Zach or Adam. Loops vary in duration, 4-9 seconds, but will play indefinitely.
This tape loop kit is made complete with a minizine detailing step-by-step instructions on how to make your own tape loop. Taking cues from Zach's tape manipulation workshops, Adam designed a cassette sized guide that will get you making analog audio loops in no time.
*Please note that this is a modified playback technology! Cassettes and cassette players are not designed to function in this way. Some cassette players may struggle to play loops. Some tapping and side flipping, might be needed to make a stubborn loop turn. Experiment, share, and find friends with tape players!
