BZEE keeps making those hits. SPRAY SNAKES #5 is an excellent graffiti zine. It shows a unique perspective and aesthetic with every page. The layouts are fun, with plenty of great pieces and tags but also enough bright colors, cut and paste edits, and a youthful cartoon/comic sensibility to the whole thing. There's stuff from the NYC streets, and a great layout of tags from the subway tunnels (a Reas hollow from '88), and some trash trains. There are quite a few pages of some killer freight pieces; BZEE's NYC, Jersey, Philly, Richmond connections. A Northeast Corridor of fun. There are also a couple of pages from what looks to be Italy. Crushed with tags on roman doors and newsstands.
If you haven't got your copy yet, its time to make the move. I know this has been out on the streets for the summer, but the edition is limited enough to make these some of the last out there. Don't sleep on this installment of graffiti life from a living classic.
