Having been to London a couple of times, its easy to tell that the place is made up of many smaller towns, neighborhoods, bouroughs, or communities. Each of these smaller locales certainly has their own graffiti scene with their heroes, legends, and crews. Here is a focused documentation of the names, spots, and handstyles from Southwark in East London.
DAFT DAMAGE is packed with styles slammed ontop of one another. Page after page of throwies, pieces, and tags. The streets are packed; rolldowns, etch tags, hollows, a few piced clean trains, and names, names, names. Drips seem to be key here. Doors are fully grilled with all the little spaces in between clogged with white out tags. Its a rapid fire graffiti blast from one of the world's OG big citites. Though London is often slept on, this zine helps show that their culture is alive and well. DAFT DAMAGE is dedicated to the memory of DRAPE SMC, a local teacher and graffiti legend who passed away too soon.
