PORTLAND AND ITS TRAINS - PUNKA

This here is a photo zine turned book by the sheer number of pages and weight. What we get are pages and pages of no-nonsense pictures of graffiti in Portland during the end of 2020, beginning of 2021. It would not surprise me if a majority of these were film shots, based on light leaks, some grainyness, and mixed bag focus. THIS IS NOT A BAD THING. Sometimes I like to see things the way we see memories from the pre-digital era.

PORTLAND AND ITS TRAINS is a graffiti yearbook of sorts from a hot city during a hot time. There are pages of northwest styles from Antsi, Naive, Mutant, Savie, Ebay, Joins, Awake, and so many more. Tags, pieces, throws, and trash from the tracksides and underbellies. PUNKA even throws in a good 30-40 pages of freights that rolled through this town; lotsa West Coast names from all over, plus a good series of intermodal gondolas and monikers.
