PETROGLYPHS IN THE LAS VEGAS (NV) GENERAL AREA - ADAM VOID
In the zine Petroglyphs..., Adam Void urges you to connect with the deepness of public mark making in the sunburnt desert scene of southern Nevada (US).
"Native American Petroglyphs are not graffiti. Graffiti consists of marks made where they do not rightfully belong. In only a few rare cases were petroglyphs crossed out in ancient times, perhaps because of changes in territories or religions."
Stylistically, Petroglyphs... breaks new ground on the formula of the typical minizine. The custom fold provides numerous hidden surprises that are unveiled at each new level in the zine. Content-wise, Petroglyphs... reprints excerpts from a Southwestern tourist guide along with high-contrast photos of some truly "old school" communication written in stone.
